Things to Consider before choosing the right laptop for graphic design.
CPU should not be primary thing to look for or I personally used different software on a very entry-level processor like Intel Core I3 7th generation and it was easily able to handle most of the software. But it does not mean you should completely ignore the CPU.
But to be on the safer side your budget of 40000 you should try to get highest Core processor like Intel Core I3 11th generation which has 4 cores, or ryzen 3 5th generation it also has four cores. So you should target the maximum cores you can get in your budget.
A few laptops also offer ryzen 5 third-generation processor under 40000.
Supported GPU for graphic designing software is very important, there is many software like Photoshop, illustrator that can easily run on the integrated graphics card and I have personally used these software on UHD graphics card very smoothly.
At the same time many software will not work properly on all the integrated graphics card, Adobe Premiere Pro software only supports a handful of integrated graphics cards.
Getting a dedicated graphics card under 40000 is not possible because most laptops has integrated graphics cards in this range so you should know that you won’t be able to use certain software or heavy graphic intensive software smoothly or for professional work.
I have used Photoshop on 8GB RAM and it runs like a charm, some software requirement to have 16GB of RAM But I would say 8GB RAM would be good enough to start the journey.
Best part is that even if you purchase a laptop with 8GB RAM you can always upgrade that, all the laptop I have selected have an extra slot and also support RAM upgradation. If in the future you are multitasking and realising that 8GB is not enough then you can easily upgrade it.
Having a quality display will always supplement your work. A FHD display will give better sharpness of the image Prime HD display. Try to get a laptop with full HD display.
The display size is an individual preference you can either choose 14 inches or 15.6 inches based on your preference, but a one advantage of having small screen is laptop will weigh less and will be more compact thus good for people who travel a lot.
And a 15.6 inches screen gives you extra space to work you can see here that both have advantages and disadvantages now you have to choose which is better for you.
Battery backup of the laptop gives freedom to work from anywhere and anytime if you travel all go to college can the battery backup become very important because you don’t have any option to charge in between.
A good battery backup can last up to 6-7 hours, and if you do have a task that it may decrease by 3-4 hours. Some laptops also support fast charging.
Can CorelDRAW work on a laptop under 40000?
Yes it can work, l need minimum of Intel Core I3 processor but from my experience what I have seen is that core i3 will run this software but if you need the smoothness and you want to use CorelDRAW for professional work then you may face some difficulties with core i3 that’s why I would suggest you to go with higher processor.
What about RAM size for graphic designers?
From my experience, I have used many software on a laptop with 8GB RAM and I have seen that most software can easily be run on 8GB and most of the time 8 GB sufficient, however, if you are entering bigger files or has higher resolution project then you should consider upgrading your RAM size, otherwise it’s perfectly fine to have 8GB.
Can I do graphic designing freelancing work with 40,000 laptop?
There is no short answer for this question in yes or no, it entirely depends on what project or what type of project you will do in freelancing.
A person doing web designing for coding may not face any issue with 40,000 laptops but a graphic designer generally uses different types of software and for some types of project they may encounter with having software like Adobe Premiere Pro there they may need better laptop.
Freelancing now a days is a really professional job so better laptop you have it would be easier for you to handle different types of projects.
Other Software that graphic designers use

Tread Ripper or EPYC is the processor that can also do the same work.
It’s also advisable that for the corridor to run effectively on your system, your computer video card should be
OpenCL 2.2 category.
The last requirement is RAM & Hard Disk space is very important.
As Coreldraw suggests that your RAM on your system should be at least 4GB as well as should have free 4 gig space on your hard disk stripe.
If you have a bigger capacity of both RAM and Hard Disks is going to be fine at that point. As Coreldraw suit provides multiple features and tools for graphic designing that even made it easy for the beginner to begin with it.
Hope this comprehensive list will help you decide on which laptop to buy, based on your needs for graphic design in India! It’s up to you to make the final choice.
But if you ask me for a quick suggestion and you don’t want to read all things I would suggest you choose HP 15s – ryzen 3 because it has the latest generation processor and 4 cores and 8 threads with a full HD display of 15.6 inches which is better than other configuration in this model under 40000.
are Traveller on the college-going student, and looking for a compact solution then I would suggest you choose Hp 14s core i3 model because it has very much similar performance to HP 15s ryzen 3. but it is more portable and compact because of its 14 inches screen and weight is also less than 15s model. It just weighs only1.45KG compared to 15s weighing 1.69KG.
Last but not least if you are on a tight budget and a good value-for-money laptop ASUS VivoBook 15 has a good processor but is not as powerful as HP 15s model but it is more budget-friendly.
